    Provision of a new bypass to the east of Cookstown extending from the A29 Dungannon Road to the A29 Moneymore Road. The scheme includes for improvements the Sandholes Link Road from Drum Road to Sandholes Road. A footway/cycleway will be provided along its entire length connecting into the existing network.

    The updated preferred route was published in November 2021. We are working at pace towards the publication of the draft Statutory Orders and Environmental Impact Assessment Report which is anticipated to be in late Autumn 2023.

    Current position

    The timescales for progressing to procurement and construction will depend on a number of factors including the need for a public inquiry, the successful completion of statutory procedures and the availability of funding in future years.
