Body condition

Information 

This part of the examination applies to all vehicles.

Method of inspection 

Examine the bodywork and its components for excessive corrosion or damage resulting in sharp edges, which are likely to cause injury. This inspection includes:

• all body panels, including doors 
• undertrays 
• spoilers 
• mirror housings

Reason for Rejection 

	Reason for Rejection	Deficiency Category
1	A sharp edge or projection, caused by corrosion or damage, which renders the vehicle dangerous to other road users, including pedestrians.	DANGEROUS
2	A body panel, door or body component damaged, corroded or insecure and likely to cause injury when grazed or contacted.	MAJOR
