Consultation description
The Department for Infrastructure is proposing a new 3m wide shared use footway/cycleway along Foreglen Road. 3 new sections of shared footway/cycleway will complete a 10km route from Dungiven to the junction with Ballyhanedin Road.
This will connect to existing and planned future infrastructure, to complete a 14km active travel route linking the communities of Claudy, Foreglen, Derrynaflaw and Dungiven.
As part of the improvements, the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Cycle Routes (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026.
Full details are contained in the draft order which can be viewed online, along with the associated plans. They can also be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period below at:
DfI TRAM Active Travel, James House, Gasworks Site, 2-4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2JA.
