The Loading Bays on Roads (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024 No. 206
Date published:
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rules entitled “The Loading Bays on Roads (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024”, (S.R. 2024 No. 206), which comes into operation on 30th December 2024.
The Loading Bays on Roads Order (Northern Ireland) 2024 (“the Order”) will introduce loading bays in Banbridge, Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Limavady, Markethill, Newry and Saintfield for the use of all vehicles loading and unloading certain goods. Vehicles are excepted from the prohibitions in certain circumstances.
The Order will also relocate a loading bay for the use of goods vehicles on a length of John Mitchel Place, Newry. This length of road is presently contained within a parking place designated under Article 5 of, and Schedule 1 to the On-Street Parking Order (Northern Ireland) 2000. The On-Street Parking (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024 will amend the On-Street Parking Order by redefining the designated parking place in question to exclude this length of the road.
The Order also revokes and re-enacts an existing loading bay in Main Street, Limavady and corrects a drafting error relating to a loading bay in John Street, Ballymoney.
A copy of the Rules may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) by appointment only.
