£204,000 road improvement scheme A29 Cookstown Road, near Dungannon

A £204,000 road improvement scheme at A29 Cookstown Road, near Dungannon is due to commence on Monday 9 January 2023.

Road resurfacing

The resurfacing works, includes strengthening and resurfacing of 700 metres of carriageway from the Coalpit Road to Derraghdoan Road.

To help ensure the safety of road users and workers it will be necessary to put a full road closure in place for three weeks. A signed two way diversion will be in place via Tullycullion Road, Mullaghmore Road, Quarry Lane.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public. Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the closure. Access for property owners and deliveries will be accommodated.

Completion of the work by 5 February is subject to favorable weather conditions, however, the Department will keep the public informed of any change. All work will be carried out in line with current public health and health and safety advice, with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.
