    The resurfacing works comprise two sections:

    • Charlemont Street from the junction of Killyman Street for a distance of 150 metres;
    • Killyman Street from the junction of Charlemont Street for a distance of 250 metres.

    The works will provide a new asphalt surface and structural improvement to the road at this busy junction and will address ongoing maintenance problems.

    To ensure the safety of road users and those carrying out the work it will be necessary to close Charlemont Street to traffic in both directions from 6.00 am on Sunday 6 August until 6.00 am on Thursday 10 August 2017.

    Killyman Street will be closed from 6.00 am on Sunday 6 August until 6.00 am on Sunday 13 August 2017.

    Local access for residents and businesses will be facilitated during the works.

    Diversions for south bound traffic from Dungannon and Moy will be via Blackwatertown with northbound traffic from Armagh via Blackwatertown through Benburb to Dungannon.

    Diversion for Killyman Street traffic will be via Charlemont, Ardress, Annaghmore and Killyman.

    All diversion routes will be fully signposted.

    Whilst the Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, motorists should expect delays and allow additional time when planning any journey.

    The dates and duration of the works will be dependent on the progress of the scheme and on favourable weather conditions. In order to help ensure the safety of road users and road workers the public is asked to comply with all traffic restrictions and to drive with care when travelling in the vicinity of the works.
