This privacy notice sets out how the Department for Infrastructure uses and protects any information that you give when you have been enrolled for a course though our Programme and Project Academy. The Department is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy notice.
What information we collect?
We may collect the following information:
- Name and contact information, including email address; and other relevant information to assist with the effective completion of the training courses with our delivery partner, The Knowledge Academy.
What we do with the information we gather?
- We require this information for the effective completion of PRINCE2 & Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) training and for internal record keeping.
Why are you processing my personal information?
- The purpose of processing personal information is for the effective completion of training with The Knowledge Academy. The completion of this training has been identified as a requirement for the effective delivery of your current job role.
- The lawful basis for processing of the personal information is that it is required to ensure the Department meets its obligations as an employer and that the Programme and Project Academy operates in line with its stated objectives. The processing is, therefore, necessary for the Department to perform a task in the public interest, in line with Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR.
What categories of personal data are you processing?
- Name and contact information, including email address; and other relevant information to assist with the effective completion of PRINCE2 & MSP training.
Where do you get my personal data from?
- As a current employee, the Department already holds this information on file.
Do you share my personal data with anyone else?
- DFI will share your name and email address with the Knowledge Academy, who will act as a data processor on behalf of DFI. The Knowledge Academy will use this information solely for the purpose of delivering the training program and will not use it for any other purpose.
- To process your examination, The Knowledge Academy may need to transfer your data to examination institutes including PeopleCert, APM, APMG, The Open Group, NEBOSH, EC Council, and Microsoft.
- We may update the relevant business areas within DfI of your completion of the courses.
How long do you keep my personal data?
Your personal data will be retained by DFI for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this notice, and in accordance with DFI's data retention policy.
What rights do I have?
- You have the right to obtain confirmation that your data is being processed, and access to your personal data
- You are entitled to have personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete
- You have a right to have personal data erased and to prevent processing, in specific circumstances
- You have the right to ‘block’ or suppress processing of personal data, in specific circumstances
- You have the right to data portability, in specific circumstances
- You have the right to object to the processing, in specific circumstances
