    Date published: 15 November 2023

A resurfacing scheme on the A505 Killyclogher Road, between Slieveard Park at Youth Sport and Ballinamullan Road, is due to commence on Tuesday 21 November 2023.

    Traffic movement during resurfacing work

The work includes carriageway strengthening and construction of a right turning lane. To help ensure the safety of those using the road and to facilitate the works it will be necessary to operate a road closure daily from 9:00 am until 5.00 pm from Tuesday 21 November to Friday 24 November 2023.

During the road closure a Diversion will be in place via: B46 Creggan Road, B4 Drumnakilly Road, B4 Hospital Road and vice versa.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public. Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the closure. Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Completion of the work by Friday 24 November is subject to favorable weather conditions, however, the Department will keep the public informed of any change. All work will be carried out in line with current public health and safety advice, with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.
