    Date published: 30 March 2022

A carriageway resurfacing scheme on the A29 Carhill Road, Garvagh will commence on Monday 4 April 2022.

The resurfacing works will extend the previously completed section by approximately one kilometre towards Swatragh and will deliver significant improvements to both the structural integrity and surface quality of the road.

During the course of the works traffic will be managed by a convoy working system - no road closures are planned. Speed restrictions will be in force over the Easter Holidays and during the evening and overnight period. The works are expected to be completed by 30 April 2022.

The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience, however, drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.

In order to help ensure the safety of road users and road workers the public is asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive with extra care when travelling in the vicinity of the works.

Completion of the works by 30 April 2022 is dependent on favourable weather conditions. The Department will keep the public informed of any changes.
