£300,000 resurfacing scheme on A25 Newtown Road, Camlough

Date published: 20 October 2017

A £300,000 road improvement scheme on the A25 Newtown Road, Camlough is underway.

Road resurfacing

The resurfacing works extend a distance of approximately 1.2 kilometres from its junction with the B30 Newtown Road, Camlough to near its western junction with the B30 Newtown Road. This significant scheme on the main road from Newry to Newtownhamilton will provide over 1 kilometre of new asphalt road surface and associated drainage improvement works.  The scheme is due to be complete by 10 November.

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors a temporary road closure will operate daily from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm from Wednesday 25 October until Friday 10 November. Diversionary routes will be signed.  Local access for residents will be maintained at all times during the scheme.

The Department for Infrastructure aims to keep disruption to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area whilst the road improvements are being carried out.

The dates and duration of the works will be dependent on the progress of the scheme and on favourable weather conditions.
