    Date published: 21 March 2018

A £187,000 road improvement scheme on the B175 Edendarriff Road, Ballynahinch starts on Monday 26 March 2018.

    Raking whilst resurfacing a footway

The scheme, which will involve drainage works and the resurfacing of a 1.7km stretch of the B175 Edendarriff Road from its junction with Drumaroad Hill and Dromore Road in the Ballynahinch direction, will deliver significant improvements to both the structural integrity and surface of the road. The work is expected to be completed by 27 April 2018.

To facilitate the works the Edendarriff Road will be closed from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm from Monday 26 March to Friday 30 March and from Monday 16 April to Friday 27 April. The road will reopen during the evenings and over weekends.

The diversion route will be signed with traffic being diverted via B175 Ballynahinch Road/Ballylough Road, A25 Ardnabannon Road/Castlewellan Road, A24 Newcastle Road/Drumaness Road and B175 Spa Road.

The Department has programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience, however, drivers should expect some delays and are advised to leave additional time when travelling in the area.

The dates and duration of the works will be dependent on the progress of the scheme and on favourable weather conditions.
