The Department for Infrastructure has announced that enabling works to facilitate structural repairs on the A6 Glenshane Road, Dungiven (Carn) will begin week commencing Monday 27 July 2026.

    Latest News

These essential infrastructure repair works are required to maintain the carriageway and drainage infrastructure at this location. The initial works will consist of converting the existing Belfast bound hard shoulder into a temporary running lane for a distance of 400 metres with a lane closure in place.

Later works will involve the replacement of a section of drainage culvert and embankment repair. These works will be progressed as soon as practicable and further details will be announced.

The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience, however, while measures have been taken to accommodate local access, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.

We would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure repair work is carried out.
