DfI Minister John O'Dowd - February 2024

EVANI represent the interests of local electric vehicle users.  Their annual survey published on 9 September 2024 attracted 423 responses and captures the thoughts of existing electric vehicle drivers in the north.

The Minister said:

“The findings of EVANI’s EV Drivers survey highlights the continued growth in the sales of new and second-hand Electric Vehicles here, along with their observation of a 700% increase in publicly available rapid charging Infrastructure for EV drivers since the 2022 survey.

“This demonstrates a very positive direction of travel in this ever-growing market and an increase in consumer confidence in purchasing EVs when replacing their petrol and diesel vehicles. It is very encouraging given the pivotal role EV’s will play in the decarbonisation of transport. Charge point operators, manufacturers and dealers are continuing to invest in the sector here and are making a significant contribution to helping to meet our net zero ambitions”.
