    Date published: 29 May 2024

Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd has announced that a £240,000 carriageway and resurfacing scheme on the Belmont Church Road, Belfast is due to commence on Monday 3rd June 2024.

This resurfacing scheme will resurface the full length of the road between the Upper Newtownards Road to the Belmont Road and will greatly improve the strength and surface quality on this section of the road network to the benefit of all road users who travel through the area.

To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme it will be necessary to implement a daily road closure (Monday to Friday) between 08.00 am and 5.00 pm. Access and egress for residents and businesses will be maintained while additional information signage for businesses in the area will be erected.

The Department for Infrastructure has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should expect delays and allow additional time when planning any journey.

Subject to favourable weather conditions the scheme is expected to be completed by 8 August, however the Department will keep the public informed of any changes.
