Minister Kimmins announces public engagement on Newry Inner City Greenway

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced that early public engagement on the Newry Inner City Greenway Active Travel Signature Scheme will commence on 8 October 2026.
Minister Kimmins said:
“This signature active travel scheme aims to improve connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists through Newry by providing safer, more accessible and attractive active travel infrastructure, linking communities with key destinations and encouraging healthier and more sustainable travel choices."
"My Department is keen to understand any opportunities and local issues and I would encourage people to give their views and help shape the future development of the scheme.”
Information about the scheme can be viewed on the Department’s website or in person at a drop in event to be held at Newry Leisure Centre 60 Cecil Street, Newry, BT35 6AU between 1pm and 7pm on Thursday 8th October 2026.
Views can be submitted from 8 October 2026 at 9.00 am until 5 November 2026 at 5.00 pm at:
