Essential Safety Works Derriaghy Road, Lisburn
Date published:
The Department is facilitating, on behalf of Northern Ireland Water, essential safety works outside Boomer’s Reservoir on Derriaghy Road, Lisburn on Tuesday and Wednesday 21 and 22 January 2025.

The Reservoir Panel Engineer has recommended the removal of a row of trees on the southern boundary of the reservoir to reduce any potential structural damage to the nearby reservoir, which could pose a public safety risk.
The work will be carried out during off-peak hours on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 January 2025. A lane closure will be in place on Derriaghy Road between Belmont Drive and Haddington Hill from 9.30am to 4.30pm each day and traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.
Whilst the Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area. The Department apologises for any inconvenience.
In order to help ensure the safety of road users and road workers the public is asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive with extra care when travelling in the vicinity of the works.
