Consultation description
This consultation seeks views on proposals to modernise NI's drug driving laws. The main proposal is the introduction of new offences linked to specified drug limits. Under these offences, it would not be necessary for the PSNI to prove impairment where a driver is found to be over the relevant limit for a specified drug. The consultation also seeks views on powers to specify drugs and limits through future regulations, and the introduction of a medical defence for those using relevant medicines legitimately.
