Dalradian Project - Transboundary Consultation
Transboundary consultation correspondence with the EEA State in accordance with the Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 & the Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (NI) 2017.
The Department has carried out transboundary consultation to enable residents on both sides of the border to participate in the public local inquiry. The location of the border does not affect people’s ability to participate in the inquiry process, since the consultation allows residents in both the North and the Republic of Ireland to submit representations and comments. The nature and importance of the environment and ecology said to be affected, and the nature and extent of any impacts considered as likely to occur, do not depend on the location of the border. All representations should be sent to planning@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk.
Consultation Update
The transboundary public consultation period which allowed members of the public in the south of Ireland the opportunity to express their views on the project prior to the resumption of the Conjoined Public Local Inquiry concluded on Wednesday 23 April 2025.
The Department has received a substantial number of representations. These will be published in due course on the Northern Ireland Planning Portal via https://planningregister.planningsystemni.gov.uk/simple-search under the following planning application references: LA10/2017/1249/F, LA10/2019/1386/F and LA11/2019/1000/F and planning portal references: SPD/2017/1249/F, LA10/2019/1386/F and LA11/2019/1000/F.
