The proposed scheme at Esker Bog (Dromore) is one of a number of improvement schemes to modern single carriageway standards with improved overtaking opportunities on the A32 route between Omagh and Enniskillen.

The A32 between Omagh and Enniskillen is classified as a Trunk Road within the Regional Strategic Transport Network. Improvements to the route were included within the Investment Delivery Plan (IDP) for Roads (2008).

On the existing route, which serves as the link between Omagh and the South West Acute Hospital Emergency Department in Enniskillen, overtaking opportunities are limited and as a result, journey times tend to be unpredictable.

    Proposed Scheme

The proposed scheme is a 1.1km off-line realignment scheme, located south of Dromore.

It is one of a number of the improvement schemes to modern single carriageway standards with improved overtaking opportunities on the A32 route between Omagh and Enniskillen.

    • SAR 2 (Preferred Route) approval & Gateway 1 Approval granted February 2013.
    • Scheme estimate of £4m to £5m (Feb 2013).

Progressing of this scheme remains dependent upon funding.
