The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2019 (S.R. 2019 No. 64)

The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2019, (S.R. 2019 No. 64), which comes into operation on 17 April 2019. 

Details

The rule will create parking places with unlimited waiting in Antrim, Armagh, Banbridge, Bangor, Belfast, Carrickfergus, Coleraine, Comber, Downpatrick, Draperstown, Dromore, County Down, Gortin, Greenisland, Kircubbin, Larne, Lisburn, Londonderry, Lurgan, Magherafelt, Newry, Newtownabbey, Newtownards, Portadown, Portaferry, Scarva, Sixmilecross and Warrenpoint.

In Ballynahinch as part of a Council led Public Realm scheme the rule will amend the descriptions of existing parking places with unlimited waiting, create a new parking place and remove an existing parking place. The rule will also amend the description of existing parking places with waiting limited to 3 hours Monday to Saturday between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm with no return within 1 hour or 5.00 pm.  

All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.

The rule will also correct a drafting error relating to an item in Victoria Avenue, Newtownards, (existing parking places will not be affected) and remove parking places with unlimited waiting at Bangor, Belfast, Newtownards and Portaferry.
