    The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Parking and Waiting Restrictions (Londonderry) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022”, (S.R. 2022 No. 20), which comes into operation on 21 February 2022.

    The Rule will-

    • authorise a length of Asylum Road for the use as parking places and prescribe the conditions under which they may be used. Between 8.00 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on the days Monday to Saturday inclusive parking will be limited to 1 hour with no return within 1 hour;
    • prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (loading and unloading not permitted) on a length of Magazine Street, New Buildings Industrial Estate and Shipquay Street and on lengths of Asylum Road; and
    • prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Bonds Hill and on a length of Browning Drive.

    Vehicles are excepted from the conditions and prohibitions in certain circumstances.

    During the current Covid-19 restrictions, a copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by email to TrafficWestern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone on 02882 254085.
