  • The Blue Badge Scheme – revised application process for those applicants renewing their Blue Badge - Screening form

    Topics:
    • Road users

    Date published: 17 June 2024

The revision to the Blue Badge renewal application process will bring it into closer alignment with the criteria set out by the Department for Transport, London.

The criteria relates to the mobility competent of the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Descriptor E - those awarded 10 points for Planning and following a ‘Journey’ activity of the Mobility component of PIP and cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. This will result in applications for those with “hidden disabilities” to be processed without the need for a GP referral therefore speeding up the process.

    • Existing/Revised/New: Revised
