    Date published: 30 November 2020

A £100,000 resurfacing scheme is due to commence on Thursday 3 December 2020 on the B165 Bells Park Road, Victoria Bridge, Co. Tyrone.

    Resurfacing work

The works will commence near the A5 Melmount Road junction and progress westwards for 480 metres and will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the road.

A full road closure shall be required to facilitate the resurfacing works. A two way traffic diversion will be in operation via the A5 Melmount Rd, A5 Great Northern Link, B85 Urney Road and B165 Bellspark Road. Access for residents and landowners will be maintained but delays should be expected.

To facilitate the works, it will be necessary to operate a daily road closure (Monday to Saturday) between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm with works due to be completed by Saturday 12 December 2020.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience to the public. The public is asked to avoid the area whenever possible and to allow extra time for their journey.

In the interests of public safety and the safety of the contractor’s workforce the public is asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive with extra care when travelling in the vicinity of the works.

Completion of the work by 12 December 2020 is dependent on favourable weather conditions. The Department will keep the public informed of any change. All work will be carried out in line with current public health and health and safety advice, with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.
