£207,500 resurfacing scheme for A26 Frosses Road, Ballymoney

A £207,500 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the A26 Frosses Road, Ballymoney (at Kilraughts Road Roundabout) will commence on Monday 8 November 2021.

Traffic movement during resurfacing work

The works will extend for a distance of approximately 0.55 kilometres and will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the road.

Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said:

“This significant investment for a busy stretch of the road network will provide long term benefits all who use it including businesses and residents in the area. I would like to thank the travelling public and local residents in advance for their cooperation while these much needed works are completed.”

To facilitate the works, it will be necessary to operate three road closures:

Monday 8 November 2021 to Saturday 13 November 2021 between the hours of 6.30 pm and 6.00 am

During these times diversions will be in place via B62 Ballybogey Road-Portrush Road-Charles Street-Victoria Street-Queen Street-Rodeing Foot-Ballymena Road and vice versa.

Kilraughts Road Diversion - via B62 Ballymena Road - B147 Newal Road-Kirk Road-Fivey Road-B15 Gracehill Road-B16 Kilraughts Road and vice versa.

Sunday 14 November 2021 between the hours of 7.00 am and 7.00 pm.

During these times diversions will be in place via B62 Ballybogey Road-Portrush Road-Charles Street-Victoria Street-Queen Street-Rodeing Foot-Ballymena Road and vice versa.

Kilraughts Road Diversion - via B62 Ballymena Road - B147 Newal Road-Kirk Road-Fivey Road-B15 Gracehill Road-B16 Kilraughts Road and vice versa.

Sunday 21 November 2021 between the hours of 7.00 am and 7.00pm.

During these times diversions will be in place via B62 Ballybogey Road-Portrush Road-Charles Street-Victoria Street-Queen Street-Rodeing Foot-Ballymena Road and vice versa.

Kilraughts Road Diversion - via B62 Ballymena Road - B147 Newal Road-Kirk Road-Fivey Road-B15 Gracehill Road-B16 Kilraughts Road and vice versa.

Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public. Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the alternative routes which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the closure.

Completion of the work by 21 November 2021 is dependent on favourable weather conditions. The Department will keep the public informed of any change. All work will be carried out in line with current public health and health and safety advice, with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.
