    Date published: 21 November 2017

A £200,000 major resurfacing scheme on the C554 Aghascrebagh Road and the C554 Broughderg Road in Greencastle will commence on Monday 27 November.

    Lane closure during resurfacing work

The resurfacing works which will extend for approximately 3.5 kilometres of the Aghascrebagh and Broughderg roads will improve the structural condition of this stretch of carriageway, enhance the running surface and reduce maintenance costs. The scheme is expected to be completed by the 15 December 2017.

A closure of both the Aghascrebagh and Broughderg Roads will be in place daily from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm from the 27 November to the 15 December 2017 to allow for the resurfacing works. Local diversions will be signposted as work progresses and local access will be maintained.

The Department has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays are expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys. In particular, delays are expected at peak times so motorists should use alternative routes if possible.

The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
