A £130,000 road improvement scheme will commence on the Glen Road, Glenavy on Monday 12 February.
The scheme will resurface a one kilometre section of the Glen Road, stretching from the Crumlin Road to the Edenturcher Road junction, while improvements will also be made to road drainage.
To facilitate the work, the Glen Road will be closed Monday to Friday between the hours of 08.00 and 18.00 from 12 February to 9 March, with diversionary routes clearly signposted during these times. The road will remain open at weekends and evenings.
The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience, however, drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
The dates and duration of the works will be dependent on the progress of the scheme and on favourable weather conditions.
