    Date published: 30 July 2018

A £100,000 footway improvement scheme at U9012, Victoria Road, Victoria Crescent, Victoria Park and Victoria Gardens commences today, Monday 30 July 2018.

    Raking whilst resurfacing a footway

The resurfacing scheme, will greatly improve the surface quality of the footway on a 1.4km section of this development in Newtownards.

The work will commence at Victoria Crescent and it is planned that this section will be completed before the end of Victoria Primary School summer recess.

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will be necessary to operate temporary traffic signals during the course of the improvements. Access for local residents and the primary school will be maintained.

The works operations and traffic management arrangements have been carefully programmed in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The planned dates for the scheme are subject to favourable weather conditions and the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
