The resurfacing schemes will include the Rathmore Road, from its junction with Broad Road and extend approximately 694m towards Church Street and Scriggan Road for approximately 434m from its junction with Rathmore Road to its junction with Dowland Road.

To facilitate the safe delivery of these schemes it will be necessary to implement the following daily road closures:

There will be a road closure from U2508 Alexander Road to A37 Broad Road. This will be operational daily from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm from Monday 2 February to Friday 6 February 2026.

An alternative route will be signed with traffic being diverted via:

    • Diversion 1: A37 Broad Road-A2 Ballykelly Road-A2 Windyhill Road-A371 Station Road-A371 Main Street-A371 Main Street Roundabout-A371 Ballyclose Street-A371 Church Street-C570 Scroggy Road-C570 Greystone Road and vice versa.
    • Diversion 2: B201 Dowland Road-A2 Windyhill Road-B201 Killane Road and vice versa.

The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience, however, while measures have been taken to accommodate local access, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.

Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works will be substantially complete by Friday 6 February 2026, however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
