    BACKGROUND

    • Todds Hill / Windmill Road is a residential road leading to a Business Park on the outskirts of Saintfield village in Co. Down.
    • An existing footway runs along the majority of Todds Hill up to a tyre centre. There is no footway provision towards the Business Park on Windmill Road.
    • Complaints have been received from elected representatives / members of the public who regularly walk along this rural section of the road.
    • This work will involve the replacement of existing verge, cutting back of overgrown trees and the provision of 180 metres of surfaced footway on land controlled by the Department.  The scheme will greatly improve the accessibility for pedestrians in this area.
    • Work will commence on Todds Hill with a daily road closure for the first two weeks followed by a road closure on Windmill Road for the 3rd week. The road will be open during peak times, overnight and at weekends.
    • Frontage residents and the Business Park are in agreement with the scheme and will be informed of the commencement date by letter drop (public notice).
