  • New one way traffic system for Brook Street, Omagh

    Date published: 1 August 2016

A one way traffic system will come into operation in Brook Street, Omagh, on Monday 22 August 2016.

    One way system

The Brook Street one way traffic system will operate for its entire length in a easterly direction between Brookmount Road and Castle Street, Omagh.

Traffic will no longer be able to access Brook Street from Castle Street. Motorists wishing to do so will have to continue via Ashfield Terrace and Brookmount Road to Brook Street.

A TransportNI spokesman said this system will ease traffic congestion and reduce vehicle/pedestrian conflict on this narrow urban route, improving road safety for all road users and in particular school children walking between the Holy Family Primary School sites on Brookmount Road and Brook Street.

TransportNI would advise motorists to allow additional time when planning any journeys, to drive with due care and attention and to observe the new road signs and road markings in place until they become accustomed with the new one way traffic system.
