Kimmins announces £750,000 resurfacing scheme for B4 Market Street, Leatham Crescent and Edenamohill Road, Ederney

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced that a £750,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme at B4 Market Street, Leatham Crescent and Edenamohill Road, between Main Street, Ederney and Colaghty Road junction will commence on Monday 10 of August 2026.
The scheme will involve approximately three kilometres of carriageway resurfacing and some minor drainage improvements.
Minister Kimmins said:
“This substantial investment of £750,000 for the B4 route will deliver significant benefits for road users in Ederney and the adjoining villages. This demonstrates my commitment to investing in and improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out.”
To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme, it will be necessary to implement a road closure on the B4 Market Street, B4 Leatham Crescent and B4 Edenamohill Road from Colaghty Road junction between 9.00am and 5.00pm daily, Monday to Friday, for through traffic for the duration of works.
A diversion route will be signposted via Irvinestown and Dromore for traffic from Main Street, Ederney via B4 Church Street, B4 Letterboy Road, B73 Manoo Road, A35 Kesh Road, A35 Fairgreen Street, A32 Pound Street, A32 Dromore Road, A32 Tummery Road, A32 Old Creamery Road, B84 Main Street, B84 Dooish Road to the Minnie Burns junction and vice versa.
The closed roads will be reopened to traffic each evening at 5.00pm and will remain open overnight until 9.00am the following day. Access for local business premises and residents will be maintained at all times.
The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience however, while steps have been taken to accommodate local access road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.
Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works will be substantially complete by the 28 of August 2026, however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
