Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced a £225,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme for the A32 Cornagrade Road, Enniskillen.
The scheme between Queen Elizabeth Roundabout and Erne Drive will commence on Friday 31 July 2026 and will involve 460m of carriageway resurfacing and drainage improvements.
Minister Kimmins said:
“This substantial investment of £225,000 for the A32 Cornagrade Road will deliver significant benefits for road users in Enniskillen. This demonstrates my commitment to investing in and improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out.”
To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme, it will be necessary to implement a road closure on the A32 Cornagrade Road for through traffic for the duration of works. A diversion route will be signposted for traffic from A32 Queen Elizabeth Roundabout via Queen Elizabeth Road, Belmore Street, Forthill Street, Irvinestown Road, Cherrymount Road and vice versa. Local diversions will also be in operation for non-HGV traffic.
Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained at all times.
The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience however, while steps have been taken to accommodate local access road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.
Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works will be substantially complete by Friday 14 August 2026, however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
