  • Embankment stabilisation work at Torr Road, Cushendun to commence

    Date published: 27 April 2023

An embankment stabilisation scheme is due to commence on Torr Road, Cushendun on Monday 8 May 2023.

    Resurfacing work

The scheme will include engineering works to stabilise the embankment adjacent to the road which is necessary to ensure the structural integrity of the road at this location.

To carry out the works it will be necessary to close Torr Road between its junction with Castle Park, Cushendun and Farrenmacallen Road to both road traffic and pedestrians. The road closure will be in place from Monday 8 May 2023 to Friday 16 June 2023.

Local access will be maintained to all properties as far as the hard closure however it is inevitable that these arrangements will cause some inconvenience. Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.

Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the diversions which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the works.

Completion of the works will be dependent on favourable weather conditions however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
