Completion of £85,000 road improvement scheme for Abbey Road Millisle

Infrastructure Minister, Nichola Mallon has announced the completion of a £85,000 road improvement scheme on Abbey Road Millisle.
The scheme has provided a two metre footway along with necessary earthworks, kerbing and associated drainage works along Abbey Road from its junction with Millbrook Road for a distance of 440 metres.
Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said:
“This significant investment of £85,000 will impro
ve road safety for pedestrians along this busy section of road in Millisle which will enhance provision for pedestrians and provide further opportunities for active travel.
“I would like to thank the public and local businesses for their cooperation and compliance with all temporary traffic restrictions during construction.”
The work was completed in December 2021.
