The Department for Infrastructure (DfI), being of the opinion that the road is not necessary for road traffic, gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 68 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.

The effect of the Order would be to abandon two areas of road contained with Wandsworth Road Car Park, Belfast comprising of—
• 178.759 square metres previously known as Wandsworth Road extending in a south-easterly direction covering the width of the car park area; and
• 212.478 square metres previously known as Hawthornden Road extending in a south-westerly direction covering the width of the car park area.
Inspecting the proposal
The areas of road to be abandoned are delineated on a map which, together with a copy of the draft Order, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period 9 September 2026 to 19 October 2026 at-

Inspection of the draft Order and map is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using the email address below, or by telephone on 0300 200 7899 during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.).
