    Summary

    The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 69 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 (“the 1993 Order”) the effect of which would be to stop-up to road traffic with no alternative access to be provided on the north side of the A6 Toome By-Pass at a point 847 metres east of the new Creagh Junction Overbridge extending for a distance of 6 metres in an easterly direction.

    Consultation description

    Inspecting the proposals

    The access proposed to be stopped-up is delineated on a map which, together with a copy of the draft order, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period given at:

    DfI Roads Northern Division,
    County Hall,
    Galgorm Road,
    Ballymena,
    BT42 1QG

    Due to ongoing Covid-19 guidance, access to this building is limited and inspection of the draft Order is by appointment only which can be arranged either by e-mail using the e-mail address below or by telephone during office hours (Mon to Fri 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 0300 200 7899.

    Making an objection

    Any person may, within the period above, object to the proposal by writing to DfI Roads and Rivers Northern Division, Causeway Coast and Glens West Section Office, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine, BT51 3HS or by emailing landsofficecoleraine@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk stating the grounds of the objection.

    Articles 19 and 69(7) of the 1993 Order provide that where access to any land has been stopped-up in pursuance of an order made under Article 69 and any person has suffered damage in consequence thereof by the depreciation of any estate in the land to which he is entitled or by being distributed in his enjoyment of the land, he shall be entitled to recover from the Department compensation in respect of that damage.
