The Department for Infrastructure is seeking views on the vision and objectives for the Eastern Transport Plan (ETP) 2035
Consultation description
DfI are currently preparing a new transport plan which will set the framework for making transport policy and investment decisions up until 2035. The Eastern Transport Plan (ETP) 2035, until recently referred to as the Belfast Metropolitan Transport Plan (BMTP), covers five council areas and will also support the preparation of the Local Policy Plans for these councils:
- Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council
- Ards and North Down Borough Council
- Belfast City Council
- Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council
- Mid and East Antrim Borough Council
ETP 2035 aims to ensure that the transport network meets the needs of the residents and businesses in the ETP area as well as people working and visiting the area, both now and into the future. The ETP area and each of the council boundaries are shown in the map below.

Responses should be submitted via Citizen Space no later than 5.00 pm on 30 October 2023. Comments received after this deadline will not be accepted.
