    Summary

    Notice is hereby given that under Article 65 of the Road (NI) Order 1993, DFI-Roads proposes to provide traffic calming measures on Fairview Park/Knights Avenue, Carrickfergus, between Castle Road and Victoria Road, in order to control the speed of traffic.

    Consultation description

    The works will consist of road humps across the carriageway at five separate locations, which will be side tapered for drainage purposes with each road hump measuring approximately 4.7 meters in length and approximately 80mm in height.

    The speed cushions will be constructed in accordance with the Road Humps Regulations (NI) 1999. All road markings and signage will be in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997.

    Inspecting the proposals

    A plan of the proposals may be inspected online, free of charge, for a period of 31 days from the date of publication of this Notice on 30 August 2022.

    Alternatively, the plan can be inspected in person by visiting DfI, Ballymena Traffic, Co. Hall, Ballymena, BT42 1QG. This is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using the office email address dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 028 7034 1300.

    Making an objection

    Objections to these proposals may be made in writing to the Department for Infrastructure, via e-mail to dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or via letter to Northern Division, Divisional Headquarters, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine, BT51 3HS within the period stated above. All objections or other representations must specify the grounds on which they are made.
