Proposed Roads Speed Limit (No.3) Order 2022

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled the Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022.

The Order will–

  • apply a 20 miles per hour speed limit on Gortmore Park and Shandon Park, Omagh;
  • apply a 30 miles per hour speed limit on a length of Randalstown Road, Antrim;
  • apply a 40 miles per hour speed limit on lengths of Bush Road and Randalstown Road, Antrim; Magheraknock Road and Old Ballynahinch Road, Cargacreevy; Ardcumber Road, Dungannon Road, Dungannon Road roundabout, Grange Road, Sandholes Road and Tullywiggan Road, Cookstown; and Moneynick Road, Randalstown;
  • apply a 50 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Brackaville Road, Coalisland;
  • revoke a speed limit so that a 20 miles per hour speed limit will apply to  Gortmore Park and Shandon Park, Omagh;
  • revoke a speed limit so that a 30 miles per hour speed limit (restricted by street lighting) will apply to a length of Randalstown Road, Antrim; and
  • revoke a speed limit so that a 40 miles per hour speed limit will apply to a length of Magheraknock Road, Cargacreevy.

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.

Inspection of the draft Order is by appointment only which can be arranged either by e-mail using the relevant office e-mail address above or by telephone during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 0300 200 7899. 

Making an objection

Any person may object or make other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, by writing or emailing the Department at the DfI Roads addresses above within a period stated above.
