Summary

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled the Parking and Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022.

The Order will—

  • introduce a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Cabinhill Mews, College Drive, Collingwood Avenue, Connswater Street, Divis Road, Geary Road, Hannahstown Hill, Kingsdale Park, Marmont Drive, North Queen Street, Rosetta Park and University Square Mews;
  • introduce a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading not permitted) on lengths of Brunswick Street, Erinvale Avenue and a length of Lislea Drive;
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on a length of Marmont Drive and North Queen Street;
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on a length of Connswater Street and Lislea Drive;
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Cross Parade; and
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Malone Park Lane.

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.

The Order also amends the definitions of postal packet and universal service provider in The Parking and Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) Order (Northern Ireland) 2018.

Inspecting the proposals

Full details are contained in the draft Order which, together with maps showing the roads involved, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period below at Network Traffic, Street Lighting and Transportation, DfI Roads Eastern Division, Annexe 7, Castle Buildings, Stormont Estate, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast BT4 3SQ.

Inspection of the draft Order and maps is by appointment only which can be arranged either by e-mail using the e-mail address below or by telephone during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 0300 200 7899.

Making an objection

Any person may, within a period of 22 days from the date of publication of this Notice, object or make other representations to the proposal in writing to the Department at the address above or by emailing traffic.eastern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk stating the grounds for objection.
