Summary
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) being of the opinion that the road is not necessary for road traffic, gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 68 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993, the effect of which would be to abandon an area of 32 square metres of road and footway at Mayfield High Street, Newtownabbey commencing at a point 70 metres east of the Mayfield Link Road junction for a distance of 7.5 metres.

The area proposed to be abandoned is delineated on a map, which together with a copy of a draft Order, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period 24 March 2026 to 5 May 2026 at:

Inspection of the draft Order is by appointment only which can be arranged either by e-mail using the e-mail address below, or by telephone on 0300 200 7899 during office hours (Mon to Fri 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.).
