Consultation description

The number of casualties from road traffic accidents involving quadricycles has increased in recent years and members of the public have expressed their concern to the Department about the use of such vehicles. Although riders and passengers on two-wheeled motorcycles are required by law to wear helmets when riding on public roads, this requirement does not extend to quadricycles.

The Department is considering the extension of the mandatory requirement to wear helmets to quadricycles. This consultation document sets out the various options open to the Department and the implications of these options.
