    Summary

    The Department for Infrastructure (DfI), being of the opinion that the road is not necessary for road traffic, gives notice of its intention to make an Order under Article 68 of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.

    Consultation description

    The effect of Order would be to abandon an area of 790 square metres of road at Exchange Street, Belfast, extending in a westerly direction from its junction with Corporation Street for its entire length to its junction with Dunbar Link.
     

    Inspecting the proposal
    The area of road proposed to be abandoned is delineated on a map which, together with a copy of a draft order, may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period 19th August 2026 to 25th September 2026 at-

    Inspection of the draft Order and map is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using the email address below or by telephone on 0300 200 7899 during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.).
     

    Making an objection
    Any person may, within the period above, object to the proposal by writing to the Department at the address above or by emailing lands.eastern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk stating the grounds of the objection.
