    The Department for Infrastructure is proposing enhanced active travel infrastructure to improve the connectivity for cyclists, pedestrians and wheeled users along Dublin Road, Shaftesbury Square and Botanic Avenue.

    Consultation description

    The proposal will connect Queen’s University Belfast in the south to Bankmore Square in the north, and forms part of scheme No5 within the Belfast Cycling Network Delivery Plan. 

    Key features include: 

    • Dedicated 3m wide cycletrack 
    • Enhanced pedestrian footway and improved controlled crossing facilities. 
    • Public realm improvements in Botanic Avenue
