A4 Annaghilla Road Resurfacing 

Delivery of a carriageway resurfacing scheme on a 4.35km section of the A4 Annaghilla Road, between Ballygawley and Augher.

The scheme comprises the milling and removal of the existing surface course and binder course with the construction of a new Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) surface course.  Existing carriageway levels and profiles are to be maintained throughout the works. The extent of the works is generally confined to the existing blacktop carriageway footprint.  The works may also include regulation of existing pavement layers and/or localised replacement of the binder course where identified within the contract documents. The objective of the project is to restore the structural and functional condition of the carriageway through the replacement of the existing deteriorated surfacing while maintaining the existing road geometry and levels.

The successful Contractor will be required to undertake all construction activities necessary to complete the resurfacing works, including traffic management, milling, pavement repairs, surfacing operations, iron work reinstatement, road markings, associated ancillary works and all testing and quality assurance requirements specified within the contract documentation.

The contract will be delivered under the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Option B.

Scope of Works includes the following:

A. Provision and maintenance of traffic management arrangements.

B. Milling and removal of the existing surface course and binder course layers

C. Regulation and/or localised binder course replacement as detailed in the contract documents.

D. Laying of new surfacing and binder course.

E. Reinstatement and adjustment of iron work.

F.  Reinstatement of road markings and other affected highway features.

G. Completion of all associated testing, quality assurance and health and safety requirements

Inspection of Underground Maintenance Framework

The Framework for Inspection and Maintenance of Underground Infrastructure will encompass three Measured Term Contracts to deliver underground inspection and maintenance in the following Contract Areas:

IMU1 – Greater Belfast Area

IMU2 – Coleraine, Omagh and Fermanagh Areas

IMU3 – Armagh & Lisburn Areas 

Within each Contract Area, the works to be undertaken under this Contract may include, but not be limited to, the following Principal Work Activities which are provided by way of example:

A) Desilting of Culverts​

B) CCTV and Fly-through Surveys of Culverts​

C) Trenchless / Specialist Repairs of Culverts​

D) Traffic Management, Gaining Access to Culverts, Associated Civil Works

E) Small Scale Civil Works

F) Underground Man Entry Repairs

Watercourse Maintenance Framework

The Watercourse Maintenance Framework will establish five Measured Term Contracts covering a range of watercourse maintenance activities throughout Northern Ireland over a four-year in the following contract areas:

A.          WME1 (Armagh);

B.          WME2 (Lisburn and Greater Belfast);

C.          WMW1 (Coleraine);

D.          WMW2 (Omagh); and

E.          WMW3 (Fermanagh).

The scope of works to be undertaken under each contract may include, but is not limited to, watercourse and channel maintenance; riverbank and flood defence upkeep; vegetation and scrub clearance; tree removal; and the provision of associated labour and plant. Suppliers may also be required to undertake ancillary tasks, such as the treatment of aquatic weeds and invasive species.

Typical work activities to be delivered under the framework include: 

A. Earthworks; 

B. Pavement construction and surfacing; 

C. Cycleway construction; 

D. Footway construction and refurbishment; 

E. Working with Services / Utilities;

F. Drainage and service duct Installation; 

G. Traffic signal junction upgrade;

H. Fencing and Wall construction;

I. Delivery of Temporary Traffic Management as part of associated civil works on a live trafficked Public Road network;

J. Road Restraint Systems; 

K. Landscaping; 

L. Other associated ancillary works.

The Framework will comprise of eight area Lots (Works Orders each valued £50k to £750k) and a Project Lot (Projects each valued £750k to £5m) covering the following Contract Areas:

IPF N1 - Causeway Coast and Glens,

IPF N2 - Mid and East Antrim / Antrim and Newtownabbey,

IPF S1 - Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon,

IPF S2 - Newry, Mourne and Down / North Down and Ards,

IPF E1 - Belfast / Lisburn and Castlereagh,

IPF W1 - Mid Ulster,

IPF W2 - Derry and Strabane,

IPF W3 - Fermanagh and Omagh.

Provision of Marine Electrical Maintenance Services for the Strangford Lough Ferry Service
