A2 Limavady Bypass - Bridges

The bypass contract included three bridges. Bridges over the River Roe and River Curly were the first integral bridges constructed in Ireland. Lightweight polystyrene was installed either side of the River Curly bridge to reduce embankment loads on the approach to the bridge. Top down construction was employed to simplify the construction of the Dowland Road bridge.
