Role of Statutory Consultees in the Planning Process in Northern Ireland (Sept 2019)

This paper represents the outcome of a brief internal review of how NICS departments take forward their responsibilities as statutory consultees within the planning process in Northern Ireland, the extent to which they are meeting response targets and issues around consultation processes, capacity and capability.  The paper sets out an analysis of the key issues identified, looks at the challenges faced and examines opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
