    The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Roads (Speed Limit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024” (S.R. 2024 No. 4) which comes into operation on 5 February 2024.

    The Rule will apply a 20 and 40 miles per hour speed limits to lengths of road in Stewartstown, Ballymena, Carnlough, Cookstown, Garvagh and Larne and revoke a number of speed limits so that a 30 miles per hour speed limit (restricted by street lighting) will apply to lengths or road in Garvagh, Carnlough and Larne.

    A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by email to transportlegislationbranch@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone on 0300 200 7899.
