Proposed new Water, Flooding, and Sustainable Drainage legislation – providing powers for the Department for Infrastructure to establish a substantive Homeowner Flood Protection Grant Scheme (HFPGS) - Screening form

The aim of this policy is to provide the Department with powers to establish a substantive HFPGS. The HFPGS provides financial support for eligible homeowners to protect their properties from subsequent flooding. A pilot scheme was developed to assess in real terms the value for money, public interest, and the appropriate process and delivery mechanism for grant funding of individual property protection measures.
