Newry Southern Relief Road - Notice of Determination

The Department for Infrastructure hereby gives notice, in accordance with Part V of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993 (“the 1993 Order”) as amended, that it considers that its proposal for the construction of a new strategic road link between the A1 Dublin Road dual carriageway and A2 Warrenpoint Road dual carriageway is a relevant project within the meaning of Article 67(1) of the 1993 Order.
It falls within Annex II to Directive 2011/92/EU (“the Directive”), as amended by Directive 2014/52/EU of the European Parliament and Council, on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment.
The Department has determined after having regard to the selection criteria contained in Annex III to the Directive that this proposal should be made subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment in accordance with the Directive.
